Discussion options

These are some of the options that you can set when you create a new discussion.

Content in Email
Choose whether subscribers will receive messages with the entire content of the text displayed in the email body or just a link to the message within the discussion.

Note: This option is available only if enabled by the administrator.

Prefix
Add a prefix to the subject lines of email messages sent from the discussion. This may help users quickly identify the discussion topic.

Subscription - Anonymous
Permit guests who do not have an account on the domain to subscribe to discussions.

Note: This option is available only if enabled by the administrator.

Guest Posting
Allow anyone to post a message to the discussion, even if they do not hold an account in the domain. This type of user is treated as a guest.
Email Posting
Allow posting or replying to messages to a discussion through email.
Reply Behavior
Choose how replies to posts are handled. There are three options:
Reply to list
The user's reply is sent to the email address of the discussion (for example, list@<projectname>.<domainname>). All subscribers receive the reply.
Reply to sender
The user's reply is sent to the email address of the sender or originator of the message.
Reply to
Set an arbitrary email address for users' replies to be sent to.
Message Size
The maximum size of messages allowed, including attachments.
Footer
Text to be displayed at the bottom of every message posted to the discussion. For example, consider adding instructions on how to subscribe or unsubscribe here.
Attachments
Block or allow attachments depending on MIME type. For example, you can choose to allow files with extensions .html, .pdf, .jpg etc.
